When you arrive, the coach(es) will complete a verbal attestation for symptoms of COVID-19. This is logged for contact tracing if needed. If your player does not feel well, please stay home. Following public health guidance helps keep COVID-19 risk reduced.
Ontario enters Step 3 of its latest COVID-19 reopening plan on July 16. Our season starts July 17. We are no longer restricted to one spectator per players. That said, please follow proper physical distancing of 2 metres between family groups. Please refer to the Field Diagrams to show where spectators may watch, and where players will be when not on the soccer pitch. All spectators must be at least 2 metres from the touch and goal lines on the pitch.
Smoking, motorized vehicles, and pets
Smoking is not permitted on Upper Canada District School Board property. Smoking is not permitted in public parks in South Dundas. Please do not smoke on or near the fields. We have permission to use these facilities and both the school board and the municipality assist with keeping the cost of our program at a minimum for all to enjoy. No smoking please.
Motorized vehicles including golf carts, dirt bikes, ATVs, scooters (mobility scooters exempted), or motorcycles, are not permitted in the parks, on school property, or the closed road section of Lakeview Street in front of Iroquois Public School.
Please observe the road cones placed on Elizabeth Dr. Also please do not park in the parking lot of the Onedia Grand (former United Church). There is a lot of parking available at Seaway District High School, along Elizabeth Drive, at the Library, or at the Iroquois Village Plaza.
Canteen and Washrooms
The Canteen is closed.
Washrooms are open for use. AS it is considered an indoor space, masks must be worn entering the building. For July 17, washroom two is closed for repairs. When waiting in line for the washroom, please observe
Players must sanitize their hands at the station set up at each field when they arrive. At any point, players are encouraged to sanitize again.
Mask wearing on the soccer pitch is not required. If a player feels more comfortable playing with a mask on, or wearing a mask when on the sidelines, by all means wear one.
Spectators who are taking photos of players, please only include players of your own family, or ask. This year, like others, we have various levels of photo consent from Print Only, No Social Media, to No photos. If in doubt, ask the coach or if you know the family of another player, ask. For media, contact firstname.lastname@example.org for information on media accreditation.
Rowan’s Law – Concussion Awareness
In compliance with the provincial Rowan’s Law on Concussion Awareness, all parents, players, coaches, and field volunteers are required to review a guide on Concussion Awareness provided by the Province of Ontario and sign a confirmation of the guide.
There are three different guides available for review:
- Rowan’s Law Guide – Ages 10 and under
- Rowan’s Law Guide – Ages 11 to 14
- Rowan’s Law Guide – Ages 15 and up; Parents; Coaches; Referees; and Field officials
The SDSA will have in its new registration form a section for the Rowan’s Law confirmation. Volunteers will have a separate form that will need to be signed for the Rowan’s Law confirmation.
